Cool ways to beat the heat

The Library: It’s cool, quiet, and a great place to just relax. Most people often forget how nice it can be to just stop by and hang out at the local library. Most public libraries offer free summer reading clubs for kids of all ages and reading levels.

Ice Skating: Not all ice rinks close for the off season, and what better way to cool off than on ice? Places like Twin Ponds in Harrisburg and the Lancaster Ice Rink have public skating hours throughout the summer.

Build Your Own Water Park: If you’re not willing to spend the extra bucks, make your own water park in your backyard. Inflatable pools, water slides, water blasters, and even sprinklers are a fun, cheap way to cool off no matter how old you are!

Movie Marathon (And Your Imagination): Use some movies and your imagination to take you away to cooler climates. Put on Happy Feet or Eight Below while eating a chilling snack like a Popsicle.

Take A Trip To The Museum: Museums are a great indoor destination on those sweltering days. While it’s a great place to learn about what local Pennsylvania has cheap jerseys to offer, some like the Whitaker Center have kid friendly exhibits and activities.
